Environmental Surveying
When involved in land development projects, we often must prepare survey maps that depict property wetlands, water courses, individual trees, rock outcroppings and any other sensitive natural features which may be located on the site.
Residential & Commercial Subdivisions
Preparation of Subdivision plats for recording with the County Clerk’s office is a routine part of the work we perform. These maps are prepared to the specifications of the municipal authority having jurisdiction, as well as the Health Department and County Clerk requirements. These maps are used to create new parcels of land from an existing parcel, and can be for either residential or commercial use.
Topographic Surveys
One of the initial steps involved with most land development projects is the creation of a Topographic Survey. This type of survey is used as the basis for any kind of detailed land planning. It provides a two dimensional view of the site’s man-made and natural features with a graphic representation of the third dimension through the use of contour lines to depict the site’s elevations.
Property Staking
Property staking involves our personnel placing markers at the property’s corners, angles and any other requested points along the property boundary. These markers can be wooden stakes, iron reinforcement bars (re-bars or iron pins), monuments or, in cases where the surface warrants, chiseled markings in rock or concrete.
Construction Layout
Once a land development project has advanced to the stage of actual construction our personnel are often called upon to provide staking of any proposed features for the site. This work can be similar to property staking, but the points being stake are often staked with vertical information for point also being provided. This type of work allows contractors to construct the new features in the correct horizontal location, as well as at the proper elevation.
Title Surveys
Title surveys have long been the core of the private land surveying firm. This type of service provides a map of a piece of property which depicts the improvements to the lot (house, driveway, walls, fences, walks, etc.). This type of map is often required by banks providing mortgages and title companies providing Title Insurance. This type of map provides a clear picture of a piece or parcel of land with its improvements for the new homeowner, the lending institution and the insurance company.
Technical Services Our firm can also provide specialized technical services. We have the ability to provide survey grade GPS services as well as GIS grade services. We can provide implementation and creation of Geographic Information Systems and GIS data collections services.
